One of our most numerous and
oft-seen residents, in the company of one of the few and seldom
observed Black Skimmers that live on the estuary. Black Skimmers
are unmistakable in appearance and behavior. Hunting
nocturnally, they can be seen skimming the water with lower
mandible slicing the surface in search of small fish which they
deftly scoop up.
