Belted Kingfisher
Ceryle alcyon
There is a
wonderful combination of colors and textures in this picture. Belted
Kingfishers are seen throughout the estuary, this one just south of
the Inn at Morro Bay. Usually heard before they are seen, they are
not an easy bird to approach.
