Western Sandpipers
Calidris mauri
Two juveniles taking a little rest after a
morning of methodically probing the mudflats. The Western is the
estuary's most numerous Sandpiper, seen frequently with smaller
numbers of Least Sandpiper, which are distinctive with their yellow
legs.
