Snowy Egret
Egreta thula
Windy day stalking fish on a shallow
mud flat. To move, the bird would gently spread its wings, catch the
breeze, and lift-off without a wing beat. It would then silently
"kite-up," move a yard or two, and lower itself ever-so-gently back
onto the mud flat to resume the hunt.
