Canada Geese
Branta canadensis
Three members of the small group of
birds that arrived in mid-October (see Geese Over The Salt Marsh).
Generally large stately birds, Canada Geese can vary greatly in
size. This group is comprised of large birds. Mature birds can weigh
from four to nine-plus pounds, with wing spans in the four to five
foot range.
