Great Blue Heron and Great Egret

Medium-high tide in the salt marsh. This group of about twenty birds was gathered along a mud bank rich in crabs soon to be exposed by the dropping tide. In the meantime, the birds seemed to be croaking out old Otis Redding tunes - or maybe it was just me.
