Bufflehead - Bucephala albeola
Take-off run, two males showing breeding plumage, white around the back of
the head and iridescence on the head and neck.

Pacific Loon - Gavia pacifica
One of our migratory winter visitors, this adult in non-breeding
plumage is about to dine. Loons are most often seen in the harbor end of the bay,
but on higher tides they are seen off Baywood.

Great Blue Heron - Andea herodias
Big bird in front of huge rock.

Harbor Seal - Phoca vitulina
The most numerous pinniped in the Morro Bay Estuary - the most numerous pinniped
in the world, for that matter. The population in the estuary seems to hover at about 50 animals.
Very alert and curious, they like to follow the canoes and, on occasion, approach surprisingly close.
