Welcome to Orchid Outriggers!

Located in Los Osos on the central coast of California, Orchid Outriggers offers custom photography tours in hand-crafted outrigger canoes. If you are looking for an opportunity to see and experience the bay in a whole new way, our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be happy to guide you.

From the perspective of a naturalist or a birder, the Morro Bay Estuary is perhaps the most uncommon of precious jewels. It is separated and protected from the sea by a four mile long sand spit. The estuary consists of over two thousand acres of tidal wetlands which fill and drain twice a day as the tide ebbs and flows, just as it has for the last 12,000 years.

This remarkable bay is dominated to the north by Morro Rock and, in its afternoon shadow, the town of Morro Bay - the most picturesque waterfront in California.

The southern end of the estuary is almost a mile wide, its eastern shore bordering the unique town of Los Osos (home of Orchid Outriggers) and the charming bayside community of Baywood Park.

This is a perfect setting for photographers, birders, and anyone else interested in experiencing nature at its finest.

Orchid Outriggers and its guides are licensed by the California Department of Fish and Game to provide guide services for bird watching, photography, and scenic tours.

These guys are having some outrigger fun in a different way from
our tours, but they sure are having a great time!

Join us for a tour. We look forward to seeing you!
